What the live charts show
The chart covers the seven major pairs (EUR/USD, GBP/USD, USD/JPY, USD/CHF, AUD/USD, USD/CAD and NZD/USD) plus gold (XAU/USD) and WTI crude oil. The tabs across the top show each market’s latest price and its change since the previous daily close, so you can see at a glance what is moving today.
Prices are live bid quotes from a retail forex broker feed, the same prices a MetaTrader chart shows. Next to the symbol you’ll find the current bid, ask and spread (in pips for currency pairs, in dollars for gold and oil). All times are shown in your own time zone.
Timeframes and indicators
Switch between 1-minute, 5-minute, 15-minute, 1-hour, 4-hour, daily and weekly candles. Looking at the same pair on a higher and a lower timeframe is the basis of multiple timeframe analysis.
Four indicators can be switched on with one click:
- MA – 20 and 50-period moving averages, the classic trend filter (see moving average crossover strategies).
- BB – Bollinger Bands (20, 2) for volatility and stretched moves (see Bollinger Bands strategies).
- RSI – 14-period Relative Strength Index for overbought and oversold readings.
- MACD – 12, 26, 9 momentum. RSI and MACD are both used to spot divergence reversals.

Reading the chart
Each candle shows the open, high, low and close for its period: green when price closed higher, red when it closed lower. Hover or tap a candle to see its exact values. If you’re new to candles, our candlestick pattern list explains the main formations, and chart patterns such as the head and shoulders are easiest to spot on the 4-hour and daily charts.
The forex market trades 24 hours a day from Sunday evening to Friday evening (New York time). At weekends the chart shows Market closed and the last prices of the week.

Are these forex charts really live?
Yes. Prices stream in real time and the chart updates every second while the market is open, with no refresh needed.
Why might the price differ slightly from my broker?
Every broker quotes its own bid and ask, so prices can differ by a fraction of a pip, and gold and oil CFDs can differ a little more. Always use your own broker’s platform for trading.
Can I trade from these charts?
