How to Activate a Product

Follow these steps to activate either paid or free software licenses. In the unlikely event that the software doesn’t activate, please see the troubleshooting guide.

Activating a Paid License

First install the software in Metatrader.

Once installed, launch the tool onto a new chart as follows. Click the New Chart icon that’s found in Metatrader’s File menu. Now double click on the indicator’s icon in the Navigator pane. It should load onto the chart and display a popup alert prompting you to activate.

Copy the pincode exactly as it’s displayed by the tool, including the dashes. For example 1234-5678-9. The pincode will be displayed in the alert window if the tool isn’t activated. It’s also displayed in the terminal’s output log in the Expert tab. In Metatrader use CTRL-T to toggle the Terminal on/off.

Once the code is copied, close the chart.

Go to the activation page and enter the email address you used at checkout together with your order number. Where is my order number? Your order number is found on the checkout completed page. It will also be on the order confirmation email that was sent to you.

After entering, click the Next button.

On the next page choose the required product from the drop down list.

Enter the pin code (or account code) copied from the step above. Then click Activate.

Copy the activation code from the form. Go back to Metatrader and launch the tool again onto a new chart by double clicking the icon. When the box appears, select the Inputs tab. Scroll down to the setting for Registered email and Product key. Enter your email address and the product key into the boxes. Click OK

The product should now be activated. If the product does not activate please refer to the troubleshooting guide below.

If you are still unable to activate after following these steps, please contact us including your order number and pincode from your Metatrader terminal.

VPS and Strategy Tester Installations

An activation authorizes a single Metatrader installation. Each license only allows a limited number of Metatrader activations. When running on a VPS we recommend activating the tool with the account code rather than the pincode. This will authorize a specific Metatrader account rather than a Metatrader installation.

The account code is displayed in the output log (Expert’s tab) along side the pincode. If the output log isn’t visible, press CTRL-T and look for the output messages from the tool. You can launch the tool again to regenerate the output.

To create an activation code for an account, follow the steps above but enter the account code rather than the pincode. Activating with the account code is  recommended when using Metatrader 5’s strategy tester because the tester can also use virtual machines.

Activating a Free Trial License

Free trials are available on some of our products.

To activate a free trial first download and install the tool then launch it onto a new chart. Click the New Chart icon that’s found in Metatrader’s File menu. Now double click on the indicator’s icon in the Navigator pane. It should load onto the chart and display a popup alert prompting you to activate.

Copy the pincode exactly as it’s displayed by the tool, including the dashes. For example 1234-5678-9. The pincode will be displayed in the alert window if the tool isn’t activated. It’s also displayed in the terminal’s output log in the Expert tab. In Metatrader use CTRL-T to toggle the Terminal on/off.

Enter the email address you registered on the site with and the pincode on this page. Then click Activate to obtain an activation code.

Then copy the activation code from the page.

Go back to Metatrader and launch the tool again onto a new chart by double clicking the icon. When the box appears, select the Inputs tab. Scroll down to the setting for Registered email and Product key. Enter your email address and the product key into the boxes then click OK.

The free trial should now be activated. If it does not activate please refer to the troubleshooting guide below.

Troubleshooting Activations

1. Check that you are using the newest version of the software. Older versions may not activate or be compatible with the latest Metatrader builds.
2. Make sure there’s only one instance of the indicator or expert running. Right click on the chart, and select indicators to display the list of running programs. Start the procedure again on a new chart.
3. Ensure you’ve entered the correct email and order number, or for free trials, the same email address with which you registered on the site.
4. Ensure the pincode or account code is entered correctly on the form.
5. If the tool has been activated before, but the activation has expired, you may generate a new one by following the same procedure as before.
6. If a free trial has expired, you can obtain a permanent licence by purchasing the product, or a multilicense.
